We will be bringing our unique, memorized, and dramatized chamber music experience to two fantastic venues: the serene acoustic space of Glyvra Church (Glyvra Kirke) on August 9th and the vibrant cultural hub Finsens in Tórshavn on August 10th.
Our program for these concerts is a deep, evocative journey through modern masterpieces, historical roots, and striking Nordic soundscapes:
? The Program:
- Stephen Montague: Thule Ultima (1999) – Shifting sonic frontiers.
- Danish Trad. / David M.A.P. Palmquist: Drømte mig en Drøm i Nat – Reimagining the oldest known secular Nordic song from Codex Runicus (ca. 1300).
- Kári Bæk: Hugleiðingar (1994) – Poetic and atmospheric Faroese reflections.
- Pēteris Vasks: Wind Quintet No. 1 “Music for Fleeting Birds” (1977) – Flawless nature imagery and soaring instrumental dialogue.
- Eli Tausen á Lava: Cathedral of the Seas (2026) – A powerful, brand-new architectural soundscape inspired by the North Atlantic.
- Atli Petersen: Kvintett (1988) – Striking and innovative Faroese modernism.
